DESCRIPTION
Particles contain a hollow inner component made with a hydrophilic material (PEG) and a hydrophobic outer layer (made with PPG). Droplets are formed in the hollow inner component. The material around the hollow cavity can be functionalized with biotin such that desired reagents for immunoassays can be added. Particles come in various sizes for shape-based barcoding.

Method:
Agitating the particles with oil and water
Form droplets that can compartmentalize your desired targets to eliminate cross-talk.
The interior component of the particles can also be functionalized to enzymatically amplify signals.
The system yields a detection limit of <1pM with a dynamic rage of at least 3 orders of magnitude.
